What you said about Panic being the first emotion instead of celebrating.....That's so real.

When I get a promotion or an offer or I'm asked to lead a Team, I'm happy but the first emotion is panic because I'm an overthinker.

I worry about how to deliver best. I start to plan how I can work with the Team. I start to formulate plans, content and activities.

I have sleepless nights. I cannot relax during the day until that project has been completed.

I become very stressed mentally, physically, emotionally and even spiritually.

I'd have to cry to God and ask him for help because I don't want to fail.

I have this belief that any work that was entrusted into my hands came because the person thought that I was the best fit - they recognised my potentials and decided to give it to me. This, in a way, helps me to cool down because it tells me heart that, "Peculiar, you can do this. Stop fretting."

So, I always try to meet up to the person's expectations.

I think it could be an underlaying effect of maybe "People pleasing" or "trying to prove myself"

Whichever it is, all Glory to God because I do the work, and I do it well!😂❤️.

Henniwayss, I'm really expectant on what you're building and I can't wait to be a part of it.

Cheers to greatness, Mama Kayyy 🥂❤️

5 hearts, I think we are plenty on this table, but God is our refuge and fortress.

What do you do when everything and everyone around you expects a different thing from the season you're currently in?

Let's say it's your season of rest, but everyone around you expects that you keep investing in their lives.

They overwhelm you with expectations, some, even, go as far as to gaslight you saying that you abandoned them. But for the past few years you've been in constant motion. Planting, working, investing in people's lives, showing up, being the messiah of the story, the one who'd always come through...

What do you do when the people around you don't understand the season you're in and just keeps dragging you into different waves of events so much that you've disappeared into their expectations?

And that part where you said every lesson is not for everyone, I'm beginning to wonder if my psychological exhaustion is coming from trying to explain certain truths to a certain friend of mine instead of letting her get there and experiencing it herself.

Because right now...🤧

Exhales.

Thank you so much for sharing this, Mummy.✨️🤍

At least it answered a few of my questions. ❤️‍🩹🫂

I just realized I am not really weird and maybe it's not not only me who panic when I'm being congratulated; after winning an award; or when people compliment me for a job well done.

In my mind, the award, compliments, and congrats, they are responsibilities.

“To him whom much is given, much is expected.”

So, I panic at how just maybe I'll not be able to deliver, but I've also learned to tell myself, “Let’s find out.”

Thank you so much, Ma 😍

I just got a new job that doesn't exact pay top well in terms of money and the workload is hectic, but I reminded myself this morning that I need this for training on alot of areas in my life. Even though it won't be long term because bills have to be paid, in the meantime I'll take all the lessons I can take.

I love the part about scaling, leadership is leadership you just have to adjust your mind.

Panic is my go to emotion whenever I hit a milestone at times I don't even recover from the panic but most times that I do I really do great things from those things.

I read this and pheww...😅 I really want to say thank you for putting this out here, ma.

Your vulnerability just strengthened me! 🙇🏾‍♂️🤍

Change is beautiful, yet scary, particularly when it comes with responsibilities that seem so weighty, and the battle with our own inner standards just won't let one think straight sometimes.

Nevertheless, the more we learn to do what we say and face change head-on, the easier it becomes to navigate.

The money-centric part cut me deep too fr and I think it's the value that lasts that we should learn to pursue above the value of now. Relationships are valuable assets that last. The same goes for character, training and skills. Once you truly own them, you enjoy their value for a lifetime. Money, on the other hand, mostly serves the present moment.

I naturally tend to go all out whenever I'm given an opportunity to work or simply serve. Some people have told me I allow people to use me, and if I'm being honest, I almost wanted to kill that part of myself because of those comments. Reading this reminded me that serving wholeheartedly is not weakness, it simply needs wisdom and I choose not to lose that part of me.

Thank you, Mama Kuku!🥹🤍

I love the woman that you are - brave, bold, brilliant, benevolent, beautiful and truly phenomenal.

Thank you for being you ma!❤️‍🔥

Concerning the panicking well I can understand 😆.

When I got my first official speaking engagement recently (and a physical one at that!), it was panic that came first and till the day I had the event, it was mostly panic and a severe dose of imposter syndrome.

Funny enough, the friend who recommended me had already laid a foundation of excellence in his work and in me, but I still felt like I was gonna bomb it badly.

I knew i could do it but it took a long while to actually get through to myself and my friend was very helpful through it and helped me prepare.

The event came and it was a success, feedback coming in, and I got another Speaking invite from one of the attendees.

I said this because I understand how irrational the panic can be, even when you know that you are capable, but the way I found out in such situations is to actually go through with it and find a way to get the job done and that's what you did.

Seems everyone also panic when they're being congratulated or complimented... So Emma you are not all that weird 🙂.

You said something that I'll like to gum to my still developing frontal lobes so it doesn't disappear. Online and Offline requires almost "the same thing" not in the literal sense.

But if to some extent you can do the job online then you just need a little bit of planning spot the gaps and improve... Thank you for that one Mama Kuku.

I shouldn't feel incompetent anymore, I should just go all in.

Thank you Mama Kuku
